Our products

Is that real stone?

Yes, our stonearts® acoustic panels have a surface made of 100% natural stone. Each panel is unique and each surface tells a story millions of years old 😊

What is the AKUROCK acoustic panel made of?

The acoustic panel consists of a 9 mm thick acoustic felt to which the slats are attached. The felt is made from recycled PET plastic, mainly from plastic bottles. The slats are made of MDF with a real stone veneer surface. All our wood comes from sustainable forestry. The forests are allowed to regrow more trees than are felled. At the same time, we ensure good working conditions for the workers and the flora and fauna in the forest.

How big are the AKUROCK acoustic panels?

The panels measure 2400 x 600 x 23 mm (height * width * depth).

Are there color samples?

Yes, of course! You can order samples here.

Where do you develop and produce your AKUROCK acoustic panels?

We develop our products in Austria and have our factory at the origin of our stone in India, where we ensure good working conditions and a great working environment. Find out more in our blog post >>

Are the colors in the pictures authentic?

Yes, the colors in the pictures are largely authentic. Of course, this always depends on the color quality of your screen. That's why we always recommend requesting a sample box before ordering so that you can see the colors live in your home. As this is a natural product, there can of course always be minor color deviations.

Can you produce the panels in special dimensions?

No, unfortunately not. We currently only produce the standard size of 2400x600 mm.

Can I get the panels with a different colored felt?

Unfortunately, we only offer our panels in the variations shown.

Do you make the panels in other colors?

No, unfortunately not. The colors you find on our webshop are the only ones we offer.

My wall is higher than 2400 mm, what can I do?

No problem! If your wall is higher than 2400 mm, you can simply mount the panels on top of each other to achieve the desired length. If you wish, you can also deliberately leave a shadow gap between the panels.

How do I clean the panels?

You can wipe the panels with a vacuum cleaner or a lint-free cloth.

Are the panels treated with a varnish?

No, the panels are untreated and the stone is natural.

Kann ich den Stein schützen?

Yes, it is possible to protect the stone of your acoustic panels. To protect the natural stone from water and grease, we offer a special nano-protect solution in our store under the accessories category. This protective agent is ideal for sealing the surface of your panels and thus preserving their beauty and integrity in the long term.

Installation

Is the installation of stonearts® acoustic panels difficult?

No, not at all! You can easily assemble them yourself, even if you only have basic manual skills. You only need a few hand tools (screwdriver and possibly a saw). If you still need assistance, you can ask a carpenter or specialist for help. You can also take a look at our installation instructions and videos here.

Can I mount the stonearts® acoustic panels directly on the wall?

Yes, no problem! You can attach the panels directly to the wall without using a substructure. However, if you want to improve your acoustics even more, we recommend a 50 mm thick substructure with mineral wool behind it. Find out more about acoustics here.

On which surfaces can I install the stonearts® acoustic panels?

You can mount the panels on any surface, including brick and concrete walls. Simply glue them on or use screws. The installation instructions show you how >>

Can I easily cut the stonearts® acoustic panels to size?

Yes, it's totally simple. You can cut the panels with any saw (we recommend a circular saw). You can use a sharp knife to cut the felt. It's really not difficult!

Can you cut the panels to size for my project?

Unfortunately, we do not offer custom-made products in our production. But you can easily cut the panels to size yourself. Simply use a saw (we recommend a circular saw) and cut the felt with a sharp knife. It's really easy!

Can I attach the panels with adhesive?

Yes, this is possible, but remember that it is a more permanent solution than using screws. Note that the wall can be damaged if you want to remove the panels later. You can find the right adhesive here in our store >>

How do I integrate sockets and electrical connections into the panels?

If you have sockets or electrical connections, simply cut a hole in the panels and install the cover on the surface of the stonearts® panels. Here you can see how to do it >>

Which screws do I need for the installation?

This depends on the type of wall you have. In some cases, dowels are required to fix the panels permanently. It is best to use the screws from our store so that the attachment to the felt is invisible.

Can I use the acoustic panels outdoors?

No, the acoustic panels are only suitable for indoor use.

Can stonearts® acoustic panels be installed in bathrooms or kitchens?

We recommend that the panels are not used in rooms where they are exposed to direct contact with liquids, as the wood can be permanently damaged by moisture and water.

Can I turn the stonearts® acoustic panels into a sliding door?

It is possible, but it requires some technical skill to succeed. You will probably need to create a little more space between the rails so that the panels don't collide with each other. We have already seen a few examples where people have used our panels as sliding doors.

Can I bend the panels around corners?

Yes, that is possible! The felt is made from recycled PET plastic and is flexible and can be bent around corners to a certain extent.

Can I use the panels as door trim?

Yes, this is definitely possible! You can either attach them to an existing door or glue them to a panel (MDF or similar) to give the door stability and attach brackets.

Acoustics

How does the stonearts® AKUROCK acoustic panel improve the indoor climate?

Thanks to its unique design philosophy, the AKUROCK acoustic panel from stonearts® influences the room climate in two important ways. Firstly, the special slat design uses the principle of diffusion, which disperses the acoustic waves and thus minimizes the level of reverberation in the room. Secondly, it is based on the principle of absorption, whereby sound waves moving in the room are damped and absorbed by the acoustic felt. Depending on the type of installation - with or without a stem - it is even possible to achieve a class A sound rating, a standard used in professional recording studios.

Can the acoustic panel keep out noise from a neighboring room?

Unfortunately, the panels cannot keep out noise between rooms. Their main function is to absorb sound waves and remove reverberation from the room in which they are installed to create a more pleasant indoor climate.

Understanding sound classes: The difference between Class A and Class D

The sound-absorbing properties of panels vary depending on their installation and can fall anywhere on the scale of sound classes A to D - with 'A' being the most effective. This classification is crucial as it directly affects how well a room can minimize unwanted noise and echo. A class A acoustic panel offers the highest absorption rate, making it ideal for rooms where optimal sound control is required, such as recording studios, home theaters or conference rooms. In contrast, Class D panels are less efficient in sound absorption, but may be sufficient in environments where less acoustic enhancement is required or where a budget-friendly solution is needed. The choice of the right acoustic panel therefore depends not only on aesthetic considerations, but also on the specific acoustic requirements of the room.

Influence of the type of installation on the sound classification

Direct attachment to the wall: If you attach the panels directly to the wall without using an intermediate layer of mineral wool, they achieve a sound class rating of 'D'.

‍Attachmentto wooden battens with mineral wool insulation: By mounting the panels on 50 mm thick wooden battens, behind which mineral wool is placed, the sound class rating improves significantly to 'A'.

How many AKUROCK acoustic panels do I need for my room?

To achieve the best acoustics in your room, a good rule of thumb is to use sound-absorbing materials, such as our acoustic panels, to match the area that would make up around a quarter of the floor. This makes a big difference by reducing echo and making everything you hear - from music to conversations - sound clearer and more pleasant. It's a simple step that can significantly improve your listening experience in your home.

This is how I calculate the space!

Imagine the floor of your room is 30 m². Multiply this area by 0.25 to achieve the optimum coverage of 25% and then divide by 1.44 m² - the area covered by one AKUROCK acoustic panel. This calculation gives approximately 5.2 (as we only offer panels in whole units, we adjust the total number to 6 panels).

Our recommendation for significant acoustic problems!

If you are faced with significant acoustic problems in your rooms, we strongly recommend mounting on 50mm wooden battens with a mineral wool carpet pad to achieve the best possible sound quality. 😊
